This is all very new to me and there is no shame in admitting that I plan on figuring it out as I go along. To continue this honesty trend ̶̶ which will be the basis of my blog ̶ that’s how I lived most of my life, but with hours of daily research, I like to think that I figured it out. Considering it has led me to this huge opportunity that begins in a matter of weeks, I’d say I’m on the right track.

Let me get into the reasons for writing this blog, in which I don’t necessarily have the experience for, nor have I ever considered myself a writer. I’m not counting down or anything, but in about 25 days I won’t have a job for the best reason I could ever imagine, and I will have more free time than ever since starting this thing we call “adulting.” I typically take pictures and videos to make my memories last forever, or until I delete them to make room for more, but rarely ever look back on them. I’m taking the advice of my advisor to journal my experiences and tag pictures to keep better memories for longer. Now that didn’t mean start a blog for the world to read, but why not share my experience because it’s not something everyone gets to do. Maybe those considering it will come across my story and be persuaded to do so or at least try.

If you couldn’t tell, I like to keep a little mystery in what I’m doing, but it’s got you wondering right? Some of you already know because I’ve told you and you’re reading my blog to support me (hi, Madre), or you just figured it out. However, I won’t be saying what it is just yet and will first be diving into the name I’ve chosen for my blog ̶ Out of her world. For hours I played with blog generators, chopped and screwed my name, and scrolled through lists, but none of it wasn’t catchy to me. If it doesn’t stick in my mind, it won’t stick in yours. My next thought was simple, ‘I’m out of my mind to be starting a blog in the first place. No one will read it.’ Now, here’s a hint of my great opportunity… I’ll be exploring the world, or at least a different continent than I was raised, which, what I feel, is pretty impressive considering what I’ve come from. Originally, I decided on ‘Out of This World’ which is basic, slightly boring, and according to Google, a show that aired before I was born. Thus, Out of Her World was final, thanks to approval from a few others.

Keeping the mystery only works for so long until you just read ahead to get the answer or give up and stop reading completely. For those that read my entire intro, thank you for letting me keep you waiting, for those that skipped ahead, you missed out on me hyping up the big reveal. Either option you took is fine with me because at least you’re reading. Finally, I’m excited to say that I was accepted into a study abroad program at the University of Bath in Bath, United Kingdom. I’ll be there for a little over four months attending school full time and traveling in my free time. The past month or so has been hectic with working nonstop and still having time with family since I won’t be here for so long. This is my final month in America before leaving and this was surreal in the beginning, but as the date gets closer its very real and I am both excited and nervous. I hope to post a couple times a week, but this first month will be slow, as the semester doesn’t begin until February. There is so much more to write about when it comes to what I have done to get to this moment, but I’ll save it for the next post.
